I have had an attraction to leather, particularly women in leather, ever since I can remember. I would call it a fetish or perhaps a fantasy, but it is not S&M and does not drive my life. Is this normal? Were does something like this come from? Answered by: Eric Marcus

Interests of this sort are on a spectrum from normal to mildly problematic to very problematic, depending on intensity, necessity, compulsivity, and role in the emotional, interpersonal relationship to women. The best way to explore this and to understand both its origins and purposes, which are variable, is in an individual exploratory psychotherapy.
