How do I stop checking and rechecking things? Before I leave my house I have to check and recheck that my stove and oven are off, that all the lights are turned off and all the windows are closed. Checking just once is never enough. I check the lights, the stove, the oven, and the windows and then I have to start all over again. This goes on and on and I am often late to work or to wherever I am going.
I am filled with doubt, have terrible anxiety and thoughts keep popping in my head that I didn’t do it right. Checking is taking over my life! What can I do?
