Question:

Can Abilify cause weakness, muscle stiffness, reduced concentration? Can a shift from 3 milligram to 2.5 cause such side effects?

Answered by: Maria Oquendo

Most drugs in this class can cause muscle stiffness, but usually this effect worsens as the dose is increased. These medications can also cause reduced concentration, but that also tends to occur with higher doses. Weakness is a very uncommon side effect for this class of medications. Given that your dose was reduced rather than increased, it is possible that what you are experiencing is not related to the Abilify.
