My 42 year old wife of 21 years, with two teenage daughers, was recently arrested and charged with having sexual relations with a 15 year old student at the school that she worked.
Why/how this could this have happened from a psychological standpoint?

It is important to remember that your wife has been accused, but not found guilty.
There are many reasons an individual might engage in this behavior. Organic factors should be ruled out. I would suggest a thorough evaluation be conducted by an expert in the field of female sexual abuse. There is effective treatment for individuals who have this problem.
