Assistant Professor of clinical psychiatry and director of the Comprehensive Emergency Service in Pediatric Psychiatry at Children’s Hospital of New York Presbyterian.

Dr. Najara completed her psychiatry training in General and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital Center in 1992 and has dedicated her career to emergency and crisis intervention work.

She currently runs the emergency service in Pediatric Psychiatry and her major interests are deescalation of agitated behavior, management of family crises and hospitalization diversion interventions. She divides her time managing the emergency service, supervising medical students and trainees in psychiatry and clinical work.
