Description:
Join Maria Hinojosa, NOW Senior Correspondent for PBS, and Heather Coleman, Senior Policy Analyst for Climate Change at Oxfam America, to learn about the human face of climate change, and the opportunities and challenges of the upcoming global climate negotiations in Copenhagen.
Shortly before world leaders gather in Copenhagen to forge a global climate change agreement, Maria Hinojosa travelled to Bangladesh to document how people are coping with climate change in a country where entire communities are inundated by water, battered by cyclones, and flooded from their homes. Heather Coleman is engaged in the climate negotiation process and can speak to how these communities might be supported through a global climate agreement.
Light refreshments will be served. We will screen “Water World,” a 25-minute film about Maria Hinojosa’s trip that recently aired on PBS.
